Whereas Freeman of the Municipality is an honour bestowed on a citizen who has served the Township and the community in an exemplary manner and has shown leadership in a particular field of endeavor,

And whereas one of the Township’s goals is “to preserve our heritage”,

And whereas Fred Pepin has been an instrumental force in the preservation of a large number and variety of heritage buildings throughout the Township,

Be it resolved that Township Council make Fred Pepin a “Freeman of the Municipality” and that this honour be announced at the 2006 Douglas Day Pioneer Event
