The north perimeter of the nature area shouldn't be opened to the public, because it hosts a sensitive wetland, Puls said.
He also worried about dogs running loose through the area, and suggested it be partially fenced with split rails to indicate the park boundary.
The new park will connect with existing trails in Walnut Grove, but there won't be any new parking.
